Description

Art and creativity play a vital role in childhood development, honing perceptual and motor skills. Art also lets children freely express themselves and display their unique identity. Teachers can learn a great deal about young children through creative projects. Students’ ideas come from their environments, which can help teachers address issues and positively impact them.

Art Projects for Young Children shows teachers how to develop a basic art program to implement into their class. Jane A. Caballero gives tips to provide a creative outlet on a limited budget or schedule. The value of art projects lies more so in the creation than the finished project, which allows teachers to assess and observe.

This resource book has over 100 exciting projects for teachers to add creativity to their lesson plans. Art Projects for Young Children provides explanations of various techniques from watercolors to batik. Jane Caballero groups the art activities into basic drawing, painting, cut-and-past, and more advanced projects. Depending on the students’ developmental skills, more sophisticated levels of creativity include using textiles and photography. Let young children channel their creativity, further their development, and enjoy this fun activity book.
