Description

Green Dragon’s National Preschool Assessment Handbook helps teachers identify the skills and behaviors that typically develop through ages 3-6. The guide has checklists of skills and behaviors to observe in the child’s development. The five areas for a teacher to assess are Social/Emotional, Motor Skills, Language, Cognitive, and Hygiene/Self-Help. The items on the checklist are sample skills and behaviors that represent general characteristics of developmental stages.

The Preschool Assessment Handbook is to assess children aged three through six (3-6), this guide gives an overview of developmental concepts with one observation and assessment system. This manual, by noted educator Derek Whordley, provides comprehensive descriptions of developmental areas for teachers, child care, and learning center providers. A practical assessment of each child will foster their progress for school readiness.

Green Dragon’s National Preschool Assessment Handbook has been a valuable tool for years for educators and administrators. Children’s developmental milestones change little over time despite technological advances. This handbook will help you understand the observation and assessment process and develop a plan for each child. If a child has trouble achieving certain developmental milestones, this book discusses early interventions. This National  Handbook offers invaluable resources and still gets widely used today!

After the preschool assessment, children will be preparing to start elementary school. Teachers can assess students for kindergarten readiness with The Lollipop Test.
